The Design Process

Our landscape architecture design process is tailored to each client's unique preferences and requirements. We consider site analysis, functionality, sustainability, and aesthetic appeal to create custom landscapes that exceed your expectations. Fee proposals for each project are provided based on the following stages.

Initial Site Meeting

The first step in the landscape design process involves an  on-site meeting with the client to discuss their space, style, and wish list. Understanding the client’s needs and the garden’s full potential is the most important part of the process. Abi will provide realistic indications of the project scale for the design and construction process.  Abi will also provide her clients with design examples and gardens to discuss, where relevant to the design and outdoor space. After the initial consultation, Abi will then send a detailed fee proposal for the client to approve, listing all of the relevant stages required.

Our initial consultations generally last 1 hour and start from £40.00 per hour depending on your location

Site Anaylsis

Once the initial Fee Proposal has been signed and approved the design process proceeds with site analysis. The steps to may include:

  • Site analysis & measurements.

  • Existing plant survey.

  • Site photos will be taken for file and reference.

  • Location of services, existing trees and other structures will be documented.

  • Spot levels and surveying (if relevant)

  • Soil testing

  • Lighting plans.

  • Planting plans including full plant schedules, soil requirements, and cultivation methods for garden bed areas.
